STATEMENT

17 March, 2018

Two RA National Service officers visited the office of “New Generation” Humanitarian NGO on March 12, 2018. During their visit, the officers informed that they were interested in the activities of all NGOs in Armenia.

Next they started asking questions about the organization, its activity, with whom the organization collaborates, what visits the NGO representatives make abroad, how many employees the organization has and who visits the NGO.

“New Generation” Humanitarian NGO views this as prevention of the normal working process of the NGO by special authorities and strictly condemns such actions.

The NGO would like to express concern on this issue and also state that it will continue the implementation of human rights defender’s, healthcare and charity missions set before the NGO in accordance with the International legal acts and as provided for by RA legislation and in-state legal acts.

We call to the NGOs.

  • To be more alert and attentive in ascertaining the identity of every person visiting their NGO.
  • To speak out of any suspicious actions by the police and special authorities.
