Discrimination on different grounds has always been observed in the Republic of Armenia, however what happened in the country within the last few months was unprecedented in its immensity.
The ground and the target for the manifestation of the discrimination in this case were the person’s sexual orientation and gender identity, human rights defending activity in a democratic country of love and solidarity - the Republic of Armenia.
Taking into account the constant threats on the online platform, organized persecutions and risks of possible attacks on the forum participants, as well as lack of readiness of the RA police to fully protect them from those attacks, New Generation has negotiated with the organizing team of LGBT Christian Forum of Eastern Europe and Central Asia on this issue and has to announce that it has been decided to cancel the meeting that was to take place on November 15-18, 2018 in Armenia.
New Generation Humanitarian NGO and the organizing team of LGBT Christian Forum of Eastern Europe and Central Asia will soon issue a joint STATEMENT on this situation.
