On February 14-16, 2019, a training course on Capacity Building and Empowerment of CSO Representatives on Human Rights and Safe Space was held.
On the first day of the course, Shushan Khnkoyan, the lawyer of New Generation Humanitarian NGO, presented the topic of "Human Rights", during which she talked about human rights, national and European defense mechanisms, the ECHR and the application procedure.
The next day, lawyer and attorney of New Generation Humanitarian NGO Anahit Mkrtchyan introduced stigma and discrimination, hate speech and freedom of speech topics.
On the final day, Hmayak Avetisyan, trainer and project coordinator of the New Generation Humanitarian NGO, launched his course. He presented the "Abuse: Safe Space for Vulnerable Groups ", during which the participants learned what kind of violence and abuse types there are, how to create a safe space for vulnerable groups.
The training was full of active questions and answers, interactive exercises, videos and slide shows.
The training was implemented by ″New Generation″ Humanitarian NGO within the framework of project on Capacity Building and Empowerment for Protection of Human Rights of LGBTI People in Armenia with the financial support of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee.
